Expanding Strategic Throughput to Close the Gap Between Strategy and Results

RPM stands for Remote Program Management.  The RPM team coined this term in 1979 in the early days of computer and communications technologies, and RPM Systems, Corporation continues to be a global thought leader in anticipating change, preparing project, program and portfolio managers, consulting on the expansion of strategic throughput in organizations and in contributing to research on the attributes of project, program, and portftolio management and change management.  

Recognizing the need for project management training in K-12 education (students, teachers and administrators) as a life skill, a job skill and a certificated career tool, the RPM team began the PMforCTE initiative to support standards-based project management training in education’s core project-based learning program, Career and Technical Education.

This website outlines RPM’s work over the years and provides envisioning outlines and resources for readers and learners interested in project, program and portfolio management, closing the gap between strategic planning and results, enhancing learning in project management and preparing for transformational changes like education’s Gutenberg II.

Based on the global standards and vocabulary of the single most highly regarded learning and credentialing system – the Project Management Institute and PMBOK® Guide – learning can rise through progressive elaboration from the most basic project management to the most complex portfolio management, with everyone talking the same “language” around the world.

By understanding the difference between project management and change management, boardroom level executives are further prepared to enhance strategic throughput in their organization.  As an example in education, education leaders would be prepared for the transformational tsunami of Gutenberg II.
